Chapter 2 · Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمَّا بَدَّنَ، قَالَ لَهُ تَمِيمٌ الدَّارِيُّ: أَلَا أَتَّخِذُ لَكَ مِنْبَرًا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَجْمَعُ، أَوْ يَحْمِلُ عِظَامَكَ ؟ قَالَ: بَلَى فَاتَّخَذَ لَهُ مِنْبَرًا مِرْقَاتَيْنِ.

When the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم became fat, Tamim al-Dari رضی اللہ عنہ said to him: Should I make for you pulpit, Messenger of Allah, that will bear the burden of your body ? He said: Yes. So he made a pulpit consisting of two steps.
