Chapter 11 · The Rites of Hajj (Kitab Al-Manasik Wa'l-Hajj)حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي شَيْخٍ الْهُنَائِيِّ خَيْوَانَ بْنِ خَلْدَةَ مِمَّنْ قَرَأَ عَلَى أَبِي مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيِّ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْبَصْرَةِ، أَنَّ مُعَاوِيَةَ بنَ أَبي سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ لِأَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: هَلْ تَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَعَنْ رُكُوبِ جُلُودِ النُّمُورِ ؟ قَالُوا: نَعَمْ، قَالَ: فَتَعْلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ نَهَى أَنْ يُقْرَنَ بَيْنَ الْحَجِّ وَالْعُمْرَةِ ؟ فَقَالُوا: أَمَّا هَذَا، فَلَا، فَقَالَ: أَمَا إِنَّهَا مَعَهُنَّ وَلَكِنَّكُمْ نَسِيتُمْ .

He said to the Companions of the Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم: Do you know that the Messenger of Allah صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم prohibited from doing so and so (and he prohibited from) riding on the skins of leopards? They said: Yes. He again said: You know that he prohibited combining hajj and Umrah. They replied: This we do not (know). He said: This was prohibited along with other things, but you forgot.
