Chapter 14 · Fasting (Kitab Al-Siyam)
Sahih

The Arabic text and the translations come from our previous collection: English from hadithapi.com, German and Turkish machine-translated (Gemini) and unreviewed. A new translation from the Arabic with the chain of narration will follow.

The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم left Madina for Makkah till he reached 'Usfan, He then called for a vessel (of water). It was raised to his mouth to show it to the people, and that was in Ramadan. Ibn Abbas رضی اللہ عنہما used to say: The Prophet صلی ‌اللہ ‌علیہ ‌وسلم fasted and he broke his fast. He who likes may fast and he who likes may break.
