حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ النُّفَيْلِيُّ،حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، أَنَّ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ بَاعَ مِنِ الْأَشْعَثِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ رَقِيقًا، فَذَكَرَ مَعْنَاهُ وَالْكَلَامُ يَزِيدُ وَيَنْقُصُ.

Ibn Masud رضی اللہ عنہما sold slaves to al-Ashath bin Qais. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect with some variation of words.
