Chapter 40 · Prescribed Punishments (Kitab Al-Hudud)حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ بِهَذَا الْحَدِيثِ، وَالْأَوَّلُ أَتَمُّ، قَالَ: فَرَدَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ، قَالَ سِمَاكٌ: فَحَدَّثْتُ بِهِ سَعِيدَ بْنَ جُبَيْرٍ، فَقَالَ: إِنَّهُ رَدَّهُ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ.

I heard this tradition from Jabir bin Samurah رضی اللہ عنہ . But the first version is more perfect. This version has: He repeated twice, Simak said: I narrated to Saeed bin Jubair. He said: He repeated it four times.
