Chapter 40 · Prescribed Punishments (Kitab Al-Hudud)إِذَا تَتَابَعَ فِي شُرْبِ الْخَمْرِ
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيل، حَدَّثَنَا أَبَانُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ذَكْوَانَ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِذَا شَرِبُوا الْخَمْرَ فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَرِبُوا فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَرِبُوا فَاجْلِدُوهُمْ ثُمَّ إِنْ شَرِبُوا فَاقْتُلُوهُمْ .

The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم said: If they (the people) drink wine, flog them, again if they drink it, flog them. Again if they drink it, kill them.
