Chapter 42 · Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah)حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ. ح وحَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الْمَعْنَى، قَالَا: حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسَمَ بَيْنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ قَسْمًا فَقُلْتُ أَعْطِ فُلَانًا، فَإِنَّهُ مُؤْمِنٌ، قَالَ: أَوْ مُسْلِمٌ إِنِّي لَأُعْطِي الرَّجُلَ الْعَطَاءَ وَغَيْرُهُ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْهُ مَخَافَةَ أَنْ يُكَبَّ عَلَى وَجْهِهِ .

The Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم distributed (spoils) among the people I said to him: Give so and so for he is a believer. He said: Or he is a Muslim. I give a man something while another man is dearer to me than him, fearing that he may fall into Hell on his face.
