Chapter 16 · Invoking Allah for Rain (Istisqaa)الاِسْتِسْقَاءِ فِي خُطْبَةِ الْجُمُعَةِ غَيْرَ مُسْتَقْبِلِ الْقِبْلَةِ
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، دَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ جُمُعَةٍ مِنْ بَابٍ كَانَ نَحْوَ دَارِ الْقَضَاءِ، وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمًا ثُمَّ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يُغِيثُنَا فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ أَغِثْنَا ". قَالَ أَنَسٌ وَلاَ وَاللَّهِ مَا نَرَى فِي السَّمَاءِ مِنْ سَحَابٍ، وَلاَ قَزَعَةً، وَمَا بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَ سَلْعٍ مِنْ بَيْتٍ وَلاَ دَارٍ. قَالَ فَطَلَعَتْ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ سَحَابَةٌ مِثْلُ التُّرْسِ، فَلَمَّا تَوَسَّطَتِ السَّمَاءَ انْتَشَرَتْ ثُمَّ أَمْطَرَتْ، فَلاَ وَاللَّهِ مَا رَأَيْنَا الشَّمْسَ سِتًّا، ثُمَّ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ ذَلِكَ الْبَابِ فِي الْجُمُعَةِ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَائِمٌ يَخْطُبُ، فَاسْتَقْبَلَهُ قَائِمًا فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَلَكَتِ الأَمْوَالُ وَانْقَطَعَتِ السُّبُلُ، فَادْعُ اللَّهَ يُمْسِكْهَا عَنَّا. قَالَ فَرَفَعَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدَيْهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ حَوَالَيْنَا وَلاَ عَلَيْنَا، اللَّهُمَّ عَلَى الآكَامِ وَالظِّرَابِ وَبُطُونِ الأَوْدِيَةِ وَمَنَابِتِ الشَّجَرِ ". قَالَ فَأَقْلَعَتْ وَخَرَجْنَا نَمْشِي فِي الشَّمْسِ. قَالَ شَرِيكٌ سَأَلْتُ أَنَسَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ أَهُوَ الرَّجُلُ الأَوَّلُ فَقَالَ مَا أَدْرِي.

To invoke Allah for rain in the Khutba of Friday facing a direction other than the Qiblah
"A person entered the Mosque on a Friday through the gate facing the Daril- Qada' and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was standing delivering the Khutba (sermon). The man stood in front of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) and said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ), livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; please pray to Allah for rain.' So Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) raised both his hands and said, 'O Allah! Bless us with rain. O Allah! Bless us with rain. O Allah! Bless us with rain!" Anas رضی اللہ عنہ added, "By Allah, there were no clouds in the sky and there was no house or building between us and the mountain of Sila'. Then a big cloud like a shield appeared from behind it (i.e. Silas Mountain) and when it came in the middle of the sky, it spread and then rained. By Allah! We could not see the sun for a week. The next Friday, a person entered through the same gate and Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was delivering the Friday Khutba and the man stood in front of him and said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! The livestock are dying and the roads are cut off; Please pray to Allah to withhold rain.' " Anas رضی اللہ عنہ added, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) raised both his hands and said, 'O Allah! Round about us and not on us. O Allah!' On the plateaus, on the mountains, on the hills, in the valleys and on the places where trees grow.' " Anas رضی اللہ عنہ added, "The rain stopped and we came out, walking in the sun." Sharik asked Anas رضی اللہ عنہ whether it was the same person who had asked for rain the previous Friday. Anas replied that he did not know.

Anas ibn Malik berichtete, dass ein Mann an einem Freitag die Moschee durch ein Tor betrat, das sich in Richtung des Dar al-Qada' [Gerichtshauses] befand, während der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) stehend die Khutba hielt. Am [folgenden] Freitag betrat dann ein Mann durch dasselbe Tor [die Moschee], während der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) stehend die Khutba hielt. Er stellte sich stehend ihm gegenüber und sagte: „O Gesandter Allahs, die Güter sind zugrunde gegangen und die Wege sind unterbrochen. Bitte bete zu Allah, dass Er ihn (den Regen) von uns zurückhält.“ Anas sagte: Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) hob seine Hände und sprach: „O Allah, [lass ihn sein] um uns herum und nicht auf uns! O Allah, auf den Hügeln, den Anhöhen, den Böden der Täler und den Wuchsorten der Bäume!“ Anas sagte: Da hörte der Regen auf, und wir gingen in der Sonne spazieren. Enes ibn Malik rivayet etti: Bir Cuma günü bir adam, Allah Resûlü’nün (ﷺ) ayakta hutbe okuduğu sırada, Daru’l-Kadâ [Mahkeme] tarafındaki bir kapıdan mescide girdi. Adam, ayakta durarak Allah Resûlü’ne (ﷺ) yöneldi ve şöyle dedi: “Ey Allah’ın Resûlü! Mallar (hayvanlar ve servet) helak oldu ve yollar kesildi. Allah’a dua et de bize yardım etsin (yağmur versin).” Bunun üzerine Allah Resûlü (ﷺ) ellerini kaldırdı ve şöyle buyurdu: “Allah’ım, bize yardım et! Allah’ım, bize yardım et! Allah’ım, bize yardım et!” Enes dedi ki: “Allah’a yemin olsun ki, gökyüzünde ne bir bulut ne de küçük bir parça görüyorduk. Bizimle Sel' [Dağı] arasında ne bir ev ne de bir mesken vardı.” Enes şöyle devam etti: Hemen ardından [dağın] arkasından kalkan gibi bir bulut belirdi. Göğün ortasına ulaştığında yayıldı ve yağmur yağdı. Allah’a yemin olsun ki, altı [gün] boyunca güneşi göremedik. Ardından [ertesi] Cuma günü, Allah Resûlü (ﷺ) ayakta hutbe okurken, bir adam yine aynı kapıdan girdi. Ayakta durarak ona yöneldi ve dedi ki: “Ey Allah’ın Resûlü! Mallar helak oldu ve yollar kesildi. Allah’a dua et de onu (yağmuru) bizden durdursun.” Enes dedi ki: Bunun üzerine Allah Resûlü (ﷺ) ellerini kaldırdı ve şöyle buyurdu: “Allah’ım! Üzerimize değil, çevremize! Allah’ım! Tepelere, küçük tepelere, vadilerin içlerine ve ağaçların yetiştiği yerlere!” Enes dedi ki: Yağmur hemen kesildi ve biz güneşte yürüyerek dışarı çıktık. Şerik (ravilerden biri) dedi ki: Enes ibn Malik’e, bu adamın ilk gelen adam olup olmadığını sordum. O da “Bilmiyorum,” diye cevap verdi.
