Chapter 31 · Fastingقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ نَكْتُبُ وَلاَ نَحْسُبُ ".
حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ ابْنَ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ " إِنَّا أُمَّةٌ أُمِّيَّةٌ، لاَ نَكْتُبُ وَلاَ نَحْسُبُ الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا ". يَعْنِي مَرَّةً تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ، وَمَرَّةً ثَلاَثِينَ.

"We neither write nor know accounts."
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "We are an illiterate nation; we neither write, nor know accounts. The month is like this and this, i.e. sometimes of 29 days and sometimes of thirty days."
Deutsch
Ibn ʿUmar (r.a.) berichtete, dass der Prophet (ﷺ) sagte: „Wir sind eine Gemeinschaft, die weder schreibt noch [astronomisch] rechnet. Der Monat ist so und so.“ Damit meinte er, dass ein Monat einmal neunundzwanzig und einmal dreißig Tage umfasst.

İbn Ömer’den (r.a.) rivayet edildiğine göre Hz. Peygamber (ﷺ) şöyle buyurmuştur: „Biz ümmi bir topluluğuz; ne yazı yazar ne de (karmaşık) hesap yaparız. Ay şöyle ve şöyledir.“ Yani bazen yirmi dokuz, bazen de otuz gündür.
