Chapter 65 · Military Expeditions led by the Prophet (PBUH) (Al-Maghaazi)حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى، سَمِعَ مُعَاذَ بْنَ رِفَاعَةَ، أَنَّ مَلَكًا، سَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم. وَعَنْ يَحْيَى، أَنَّ يَزِيدَ بْنَ الْهَادِ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ كَانَ مَعَهُ يَوْمَ حَدَّثَهُ مُعَاذٌ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ، فَقَالَ يَزِيدُ فَقَالَ مُعَاذٌ إِنَّ السَّائِلَ هُوَ جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ.

An Angle inquired of the prophet ﷺ. Yahya says that Yazeed bin Al-Haad told him that he was along with Hadrat Muadh the day he narrated this Hadith. Yazeed states that Hadrat Muadh said: The name of the Angle who inquired was Hadrat Gibriel علیہ السلام .
