Chapter 37 · Etiquetteحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ، عَنْ حَمْزَةَ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، قَالَ لِصُهَيْبٍ: مَا لَكَ تَكْتَنِي بِأَبِي يَحْيَى وَلَيْسَ لَكَ وَلَدٌ؟ قَالَ: كَنَّانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِأَبِي يَحْيَى .

It was narrated from Hamzah bin Suhaib that Umar said to Suhaib: Why are you called Abu Yahya when you do not have a son? He said: The Messenger of Allah(ﷺ) gave me the Kunya of Abu Yahya.
