Chapter 40 · The Book of Drinkحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ، قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، يُحَدِّثُ، قَالَ: «نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنِ الْحَنْتَمَةِ»، فَقُلْتُ: مَا الْحَنْتَمَةُ؟ قَالَ: «الْجَرَّةُ».

Allah's messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) had forbidden (the preparation of Nabidh) in the pitcher besmeared with pitch. I said to him: What is Huntama? He said: It is a pitcher (besmeared with pitch).
