Chapter 47 · The Book of Virtuesحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ: وَأَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ: لَمَّا مَاتَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَاءَ أَبَا بَكْرٍ مَالٌ مِنْ قِبَلِ الْعَلَاءِ بْنِ الْحَضْرَمِيِّ فَقَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ: مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ دَيْنٌ، أَوْ كَانَتْ لَهُ قِبَلَهُ عِدَةٌ، فَلْيَأْتِنَا بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ.

When Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) died, there came to Abi Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ wealth from al-'Ala' bin al-Hadrami رضی اللہ عنہ . Abu Bakr رضی اللہ عنہ said: He to whom Allah's Apostle ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) owed any debt or held out any promise should come to us; the rest of the hadith is the same.
