Chapter 47 · The Book of Virtuesوَحَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، وحَدَّثَنِي زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ الْقَاسِمِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ ثَابِتٍ، قَالَ أَنَسٌ: «مَا شَمَمْتُ عَنْبَرًا قَطُّ، وَلَا مِسْكًا، وَلَا شَيْئًا أَطْيَبَ مِنْ رِيحِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا مَسِسْتُ شَيْئًا قَطُّ دِيبَاجًا، وَلَا حَرِيرًا أَلْيَنَ مَسًّا مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ».

I never smelt ambergris or musk as fragrant as the fragrance of the body of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) and I never touched brocade or silk and found it as soft as the body of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ).
