Chapter 50 · Chapter on Virtuesحَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: إِنَّ لِكُلِّ نَبِيٍّ حَوَارِيًّا، وَإِنَّ حَوَارِيَّ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ . قَالَ: هَذَا حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ، وَيُقَالُ: الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ، سَمِعْت ابْنَ أَبِي عُمَرَ يَقُولُ: قَالَ سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ: الْحَوَارِيُّ هُوَ النَّاصِرُ.

Narrated 'Ali bin Abi Talib [may Allah be pleased with him]: that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Indeed, every Prophet has a Hawari, and my Hawari is Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam.
