Kapitel 31 · Das Fastenقَوْلِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْهِلاَلَ فَصُومُوا وَإِذَا رَأَيْتُمُوهُ فَأَفْطِرُوا»
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَكَرَ رَمَضَانَ فَقَالَ " لاَ تَصُومُوا حَتَّى تَرَوُا الْهِلاَلَ، وَلاَ تُفْطِرُوا حَتَّى تَرَوْهُ، فَإِنْ غُمَّ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْدُرُوا لَهُ ".

Abdullah ibn Umar berichtete, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) den Ramadan erwähnte und sprach: „Beginnt das Fasten nicht, bis ihr die Neumondsichel seht, und beendet das Fasten nicht, bis ihr sie [erneut] seht. Falls sie euch jedoch [durch Wolken] verborgen bleibt, so bestimmt [das Maß] dafür.“
English
"Start observing Saum on seeing the crescent of Ramadan, and stop on seeing the crescent (of Shawwal)."
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) mentioned Ramadan and said, "Do not fast unless you see the crescent (of Ramadan), and do not give up fasting till you see the crescent (of Shawwal), but if the sky is overcast (if you cannot see it), then act on estimation (i.e. count Sha'ban as 30 days).

Abdullah ibn Ömer (r.a.) rivayet ettiğine göre Allah Resulü (ﷺ) Ramazan’dan bahsederek şöyle buyurdu: „[Ramazan] hilalini görmedikçe oruca başlamayın, [Şevval] hilalini görmedikçe de oruca ara vermeyin. Eğer hava bulutlu olup [hilal] size gizli kalırsa, onun miktarını belirleyin.“
