Kapitel 3 · The Book of Tayammum (Rubbing Hands And Feet With Dust)مَا جَاءَ فِي قِرَاءَةِ الْقُرْآنِ عَلَى غَيْرِ طَهَارَةٍ
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَقَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَأْتِي الْخَلَاءَ فَيَقْضِي الْحَاجَةَ، ثُمَّ يَخْرُجُ فَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا الْخُبْزَ، وَاللَّحْمَ، وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ، وَلَا يَحْجُبُهُ، وَرُبَّمَا قَالَ: لَا يَحْجُزُهُ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْءٌ إِلَّا الْجَنَابَةُ .

What was narrated concerning reciting Qur’an when one is not in a state of purity
I entered upon 'Ali bin Abu Talib رضی اللہ عنہ and he said: 'The Messenger of Allah used to go to the lavatory and relieve himself, then come out, and he would eat bread and meat with us and recite Qur'an, nothing stopped him' or perhaps he said: 'prevented him from doing so except sexual impurity.'
