Kapitel 56 · Characteristics of The Hypocrites And Rulings Concerning Themحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ وَابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ ابْنِ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ قَالَ صَحِبْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ إِلَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَمَا سَمِعْتُهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَّا حَدِيثًا وَاحِدًا قَالَ كُنَّا عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأُتِيَ بِجُمَّارٍ فَذَكَرَ بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِهِمَا.

(I have had the privilege) of accompanying Ibn 'Umar رضی اللہ عنہ up to Medina but I did not hear him narrate anything from Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) except one hadith. And he said: We were in the presence of Allah's Messenger ( صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ) that there was brought to him the kernel of a date. The rest of the hadith is the same.
