Chapter 20 · Prayer at Night (Tahajjud)طُولِ السُّجُودِ فِي قِيَامِ اللَّيْلِ
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُرْوَةُ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُصَلِّي إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً، كَانَتْ تِلْكَ صَلاَتَهُ، يَسْجُدُ السَّجْدَةَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ قَدْرَ مَا يَقْرَأُ أَحَدُكُمْ خَمْسِينَ آيَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَ رَأْسَهُ، وَيَرْكَعُ رَكْعَتَيْنِ قَبْلَ صَلاَةِ الْفَجْرِ، ثُمَّ يَضْطَجِعُ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَهُ الْمُنَادِي لِلصَّلاَةِ.

To perform a long prostration in the Tahajjud
Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) used to offer eleven rak`at and that was his prayer. He used to prolong the prostration to such an extent that one could recite fifty verses (of the Qur'an) before he would lift his head. He used to pray two rak`at (Sunna) before the Fajr prayer and then used to lie down on his right side till the call-maker came and informed him about the prayer.

Aischa (Möge Allah mit ihr zufrieden sein) berichtete Urwa, dass der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) elf Rak'at zu beten pflegte, und dies war sein Gebet. Er pflegte dabei die Niederwerfung (Sajda) so lange auszudehnen, dass jemand von euch fünfzig Verse (aus dem Qur’an) rezitieren könnte, bevor er seinen Kopf erhob. Und er pflegte zwei Rak'at vor dem Fadschr-Gebet zu verrichten. Anschließend legte er sich auf seine rechte Seite, bis der Rufer (Muezzin) kam und ihn zum (Pflicht-)Gebet rief.

Aişe (Allah ondan razı olsun) Urva’ya bildirdi ki, Allah’ın Resulü (ﷺ) on bir rekât namaz kılardı ve bu onun (sürekli kıldığı) namazıydı. O, (bu namaz esnasında) başını kaldırmadan önce, birinizin elli ayet okuyabileceği kadar uzun bir secde yapardı. Ayrıca, sabah (Fecr) namazından önce iki rekât kılardı. Sonra namaz için çağrıcı (münadi) gelene kadar sağ tarafına uzanıp yatardı.
