Chapter 24 · Funerals (Al-Janaa'iz)يَجْعَلُ الْكَافُورَ فِي آخِرِهِ
حَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ، قَالَتْ تُوُفِّيَتْ إِحْدَى بَنَاتِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَخَرَجَ، فَقَالَ " اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلاَثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ بِمَاءٍ وَسِدْرٍ، وَاجْعَلْنَ فِي الآخِرَةِ كَافُورًا أَوْ شَيْئًا مِنْ كَافُورٍ، فَإِذَا فَرَغْتُنَّ فَآذِنَّنِي ". قَالَتْ فَلَمَّا فَرَغْنَا آذَنَّاهُ، فَأَلْقَى إِلَيْنَا حِقْوَهُ فَقَالَ " أَشْعِرْنَهَا إِيَّاهُ ". وَعَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ حَفْصَةَ، عَنْ أُمِّ عَطِيَّةَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ بِنَحْوِهِ وَقَالَتْ إِنَّهُ قَالَ " اغْسِلْنَهَا ثَلاَثًا أَوْ خَمْسًا أَوْ سَبْعًا أَوْ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ إِنْ رَأَيْتُنَّ ". قَالَتْ حَفْصَةُ قَالَتْ أُمُّ عَطِيَّةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ وَجَعَلْنَا رَأْسَهَا ثَلاَثَةَ قُرُونٍ.

To sprinkle camphor on the dead body
"One of the daughters of the Prophet (ﷺ) died and he came out and said, 'Wash her three or five times or more, if you think it necessary, with water and Sidr, and last of all put camphor (or some camphor) and when you finish, inform me.' " Um Atiyya added, "When we finished we informed him and he gave us his waist-sheet and said, 'Shroud her in it.' " And Um 'Atiyya (in another narration) added, "The Prophet (ﷺ) said, 'Wash her three, five or seven times or more, if you think it necessary.' " Hafsa رضی اللہ عنہا said that Um 'Atiyya had also said, "We entwined her hair into three braids."

Umm Atiyyah berichtete: Eine der Töchter des Propheten (ﷺ) verstarb. Er kam heraus und sprach: „Wascht sie dreimal oder fünfmal, oder öfter als das, wenn ihr es für notwendig erachtet, mit Wasser und Sidr [Lotosblätter]. Macht in die letzte Wäsche Kampfer oder etwas von Kampfer. Wenn ihr fertig seid, benachrichtigt mich.“ Sie (Umm Atiyyah) sagte: Als wir fertig waren, benachrichtigten wir ihn. Er warf uns seinen Hüftschurz zu und sagte: „Lasst es ihr das innere Gewand sein.“ In einer ähnlichen Überlieferung (über Hafsa) fügte Umm Atiyyah hinzu, dass der Prophet (ﷺ) sprach: „Wascht sie dreimal oder fünfmal oder siebenmal, oder öfter als das, wenn ihr es für notwendig erachtet.“ Hafsa sagte, dass Umm Atiyyah (r.a.) berichtete: „Und wir machten ihr Haar zu drei Zöpfen.“

Ümmü Atiyye şöyle nakletti: Nebi'nin (ﷺ) kızlarından biri vefat etti. O (Peygamber) dışarı çıktı ve şöyle buyurdu: "Onu su ve Sidr (lotus yaprağı) ile, üç veya beş defa, yahut eğer uygun görürseniz bundan daha fazla yıkayın. Son yıkamaya kâfur veya bir miktar kâfur koyun. Bitirdiğiniz zaman beni haberdar edin." Ümmü Atiyye dedi ki: Biz bitirince O'na haber verdik. Bize izarını (belden aşağısını örten giysiyi/kuşağı) uzattı ve: "Onu, onun [cenazenin] iç gömleği yapın" dedi.
