Chapter 24 · Funerals (Al-Janaa'iz)مَنْ قَامَ لِجَنَازَةِ يَهُودِيٍّ
حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مِقْسَمٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ مَرَّ بِنَا جَنَازَةٌ فَقَامَ لَهَا النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقُمْنَا بِهِ. فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، إِنَّهَا جَنَازَةُ يَهُودِيٍّ. قَالَ " إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجَنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا ".

Standing for the funeral procession of a jew
A funeral procession passed in front of us and the Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and we too stood up. We said, 'O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)! This is the funeral procession of a Jew." He said, "Whenever you see a funeral procession, you should stand up."

Jabir ibn Abdullah (radiyallahu anhuma) berichtete: Als eine Janaza (ein Leichenzug) an uns vorbeizog, stand der Prophet (ﷺ) dafür auf, und wir standen ebenfalls auf. Wir fragten: "O Gesandter Allahs, es ist doch die Janaza eines Juden." Daraufhin sprach er: "Wenn ihr eine Janaza seht, dann steht auf."

Cabir İbn Abdullah (r.a.) şöyle dedi: Yanımızdan bir cenaze geçti. Bunun üzerine Peygamber (ﷺ) ayağa kalktı ve biz de onunla birlikte kalktık. Biz: "Ey Allah'ın Resulü! Bu bir Yahudi'nin cenazesidir" dedik. O şöyle buyurdu: "Cenazeyi gördüğünüz zaman ayağa kalkınız."
