Chapter 2 · Belief
The saying of the Prophet ﷺ: “I am the one among you who knows Allah best.”

Translation
Aishah reported: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ commanded them, he commanded them to do deeds they were able to bear. They said: “We are not like you, O Messenger of Allah. Allah has forgiven you your past and your future sins.” Then he became angry until the anger could be seen on his face, and then he said: “The most God-fearing of you and the one who knows Allah best is I.”
Translator’s note: The Companions' words echo Qur'an 48:2.

Âişe (r.a.)
