الصَّلاَةِ فِي الثَّوْبِ الْوَاحِدِ مُلْتَحِفًا بِهِ

ذَهَبْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَامَ الْفَتْحِ، فَوَجَدْتُهُ يَغْتَسِلُ، وَفَاطِمَةُ ابْنَتُهُ تَسْتُرُهُ قَالَتْ فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ " مَنْ هَذِهِ ". فَقُلْتُ أَنَا أُمُّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ. فَقَالَ " مَرْحَبًا بِأُمِّ هَانِئٍ ". فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ مِنْ غُسْلِهِ، قَامَ فَصَلَّى ثَمَانِيَ رَكَعَاتٍ، مُلْتَحِفًا فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ، فَلَمَّا انْصَرَفَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، زَعَمَ ابْنُ أُمِّي أَنَّهُ قَاتِلٌ رَجُلاً قَدْ أَجَرْتُهُ فُلاَنَ بْنَ هُبَيْرَةَ. فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " قَدْ أَجَرْنَا مَنْ أَجَرْتِ يَا أُمَّ هَانِئٍ ". قَالَتْ أُمُّ هَانِئٍ وَذَاكَ ضُحًى.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي النَّضْرِ، مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ أَنَّ أَبَا مُرَّةَ، مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أُمَّ هَانِئٍ بِنْتَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، تَقُولُ

Translation

Umm Hani reported: I went to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ in the year of the Conquest (of Makkah) and found him taking the ritual bath (ghusl), while Fatimah, his daughter, was screening him. She said: I greeted him, and he said, “Who is this?” I said, “I am Umm Hani bint Abi Talib.” He said, “Welcome, Umm Hani!” When he had finished his bath, he stood up and prayed eight rak'ahs, wrapped in a single garment. When he had finished, I said, “O Messenger of Allah, the son of my mother claims that he will kill a man to whom I have granted protection: so-and-so ibn Hubayrah.” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “We grant protection to whomever you have granted protection, O Umm Hani.” Umm Hani said: And that was in the forenoon.
