Chapter 8 · Prayers (Salat)
Sahih

قَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى: {وَاتَّخِذُوا مِنْ مَقَامِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ مُصَلًّى}

The saying of Allah, the Exalted: “And take the station of Ibrahim (Abraham, peace be upon him) as a place of prayer.”

Translation

Amr ibn Dinar reported: We asked Ibn Umar about a man who had circumambulated the House for Umrah but had not gone between as-Safa and al-Marwah, whether he may go to his wife. He said, “The Prophet ﷺ arrived (in Makkah), circumambulated the House seven times, prayed two rak'ahs behind the Maqam, and went between as-Safa and al-Marwah. And you have indeed in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example.” And we asked Jabir ibn Abdullah, and he said, “He must not go near her until he has gone between as-Safa and al-Marwah.”

Translator’s note: “You have indeed in the Messenger of Allah an excellent example”: Qur'an 33:21. The House is the Kaaba, the Maqam is the Station of Ibrahim. “Going to his wife” means marital relations.

Deutsch

Amr b.
