The mosques on the roads of Madinah

Translation

Nafi' reported that Ibn Umar used to pray towards the ridge which is at the turn-off of ar-Rawha. The end of that ridge reaches the edge of the road, short of the mosque that lies between it and the turn-off, as you go to Makkah. A mosque has been built there, but Abdullah did not pray in that mosque; he would leave it on his left and behind him and pray in front of it towards the ridge itself. Abdullah would set out from ar-Rawha and not pray the Zuhr prayer until he came to that place, and then he would pray the Zuhr prayer there. And when he came from Makkah, if he passed by it an hour before the dawn prayer or at the end of the last part of the night, he would stop to rest until he prayed the dawn prayer there.

Nâfi', İbn Ömer'in (r.a.)
