Chapter 10 · Call to Prayers (Adhaan)
The virtue of going early to the Zuhr prayer

Translation
Abu Hurairah reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “While a man was walking along a road, he found a thorny branch on the road and moved it aside. Allah thanked him for it and forgave him.” Then he said, “The martyrs are five: the one who dies of plague, the one who dies of a disease of the belly, the one who drowns, the one who is crushed under a collapsed building, and the martyr in the cause of Allah.” And he said, “If the people knew what is in the call to prayer and the first row, and then found no way but to draw lots for it, they would draw lots. If they knew what is in going early (to the prayer), they would race to it. And if they knew what is in al-'atamah and the dawn prayer, they would come to them even if crawling.”
Translator’s note: Going early (tahjir) refers here especially to going to the Zuhr prayer at the beginning of its time.
