The people of knowledge and virtue are most entitled to lead the prayer
مَرِضَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَاشْتَدَّ مَرَضُهُ فَقَالَ " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ ". قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ إِنَّهُ رَجُلٌ رَقِيقٌ، إِذَا قَامَ مَقَامَكَ لَمْ يَسْتَطِعْ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ بِالنَّاسِ. قَالَ " مُرُوا أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ " فَعَادَتْ فَقَالَ " مُرِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ فَلْيُصَلِّ بِالنَّاسِ، فَإِنَّكُنَّ صَوَاحِبُ يُوسُفَ ". فَأَتَاهُ الرَّسُولُ فَصَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فِي حَيَاةِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ
Translation
Abu Musa reported: The Prophet ﷺ fell ill, and his illness became severe. He said, “Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.” Aishah said, “He is a tender-hearted man; if he stands in your place, he will not be able to lead the people in prayer.” He said, “Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer.” She repeated it, and he said, “Tell Abu Bakr to lead the people in prayer, for you are the companions of Yusuf (Joseph, peace be upon him)!” Then the messenger came to him, and he led the people in prayer during the lifetime of the Prophet ﷺ.
Translator’s note: The reference is to the women in the story of Yusuf (Qur'an, surah 12), who outwardly showed something other than what they intended.

Abu Musa berichtete: Der Prophet ﷺ wurde krank, und seine Krankheit wurde schwer. Da sagte er: „Befehlt Abu Bakr, dass er die Leute im Gebet leitet.“ Aischa sagte: „Er ist ein weichherziger Mann; wenn er an deiner Stelle steht, wird er nicht imstande sein, die Leute im Gebet zu leiten.“ Er sagte: „Befehlt Abu Bakr, dass er die Leute im Gebet leitet.“ Da wiederholte sie es, und er sagte: „Befiehl Abu Bakr, dass er die Leute im Gebet leitet; ihr seid ja die Gefährtinnen Yusufs (Josef, Friede sei mit ihm)!“ Da kam der Bote zu ihm, und er leitete die Leute zu Lebzeiten des Propheten ﷺ im Gebet.
Translator’s note: Gemeint sind die Frauen in der Geschichte Yusufs (Koran, Sure 12), die nach außen etwas anderes zeigten, als sie beabsichtigten.

Ebû Mûsâ (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî ﷺ hastalandı, hastalığı da ağırlaştı. “Ebû Bekir'e söyleyin, insanlara namaz kıldırsın” buyurdu. Âişe: “O, yufka yürekli bir adamdır; senin yerinde durunca insanlara namaz kıldıramaz” dedi. “Ebû Bekir'e söyleyin, insanlara namaz kıldırsın” buyurdu. Âişe sözünü tekrarladı. Bunun üzerine: “Ebû Bekir'e söyle, insanlara namaz kıldırsın; siz gerçekten Yûsuf'un (a.s.) yanındaki kadınlar gibisiniz!” buyurdu. Elçi Ebû Bekir'e geldi ve o, Nebî ﷺ hayattayken insanlara namaz kıldırdı.
