Sahih

Understanding in knowledge

Translation

Mujahid ibn Jabr reported: I accompanied Ibn Umar to Medina, and I did not hear him narrate from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ except a single hadith. He said, “We were with the Prophet ﷺ when palm pith was brought to him, and he said, ‘Among the trees there is a tree whose likeness is like the likeness of the Muslim.’ I wanted to say, ‘It is the date palm,’ but I was the youngest of the people, so I kept silent. The Prophet ﷺ said, ‘It is the date palm.’”

Deutsch
