حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدٍ الْقَارِيُّ الْقُرَشِيُّ الإِسْكَنْدَرَانِيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَازِمِ بْنُ دِينَارٍ، أَنَّ رِجَالاً، أَتَوْا سَهْلَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ السَّاعِدِيَّ، وَقَدِ امْتَرَوْا فِي الْمِنْبَرِ مِمَّ عُودُهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ وَاللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَعْرِفُ مِمَّا هُوَ، وَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُهُ أَوَّلَ يَوْمٍ وُضِعَ، وَأَوَّلَ يَوْمٍ جَلَسَ عَلَيْهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَرْسَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى فُلاَنَةَ ـ امْرَأَةٍ قَدْ سَمَّاهَا سَهْلٌ ـ " مُرِي غُلاَمَكِ النَّجَّارَ أَنْ يَعْمَلَ لِي أَعْوَادًا أَجْلِسُ عَلَيْهِنَّ إِذَا كَلَّمْتُ النَّاسَ ". فَأَمَرَتْهُ فَعَمِلَهَا مِنْ طَرْفَاءِ الْغَابَةِ ثُمَّ جَاءَ بِهَا، فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَمَرَ بِهَا فَوُضِعَتْ هَا هُنَا، ثُمَّ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، وَكَبَّرَ وَهْوَ عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ وَهْوَ عَلَيْهَا، ثُمَّ نَزَلَ الْقَهْقَرَى فَسَجَدَ فِي أَصْلِ الْمِنْبَرِ ثُمَّ عَادَ، فَلَمَّا فَرَغَ أَقْبَلَ عَلَى النَّاسِ فَقَالَ " أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّمَا صَنَعْتُ هَذَا لِتَأْتَمُّوا وَلِتَعَلَّمُوا صَلاَتِي ".

Some people went to Sahl bin Sa`d As-Sa`idi رضی اللہ عنہ and told him that they had different opinions regarding the wood of the pulpit. They asked him about it and he said, "By Allah, I know of what wood the pulpit was made, and no doubt I saw it on the very first day when Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took his seat on it. Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) sent for such and such an Ansari woman (and Sahl mentioned her name) and said to her, 'Order your slave-carpenter to prepare for me some pieces of wood (i.e. pulpit) on which I may sit at the time of addressing the people.' So she ordered her slave-carpenter and he made it from the tamarisk of the forest and brought it (to the woman). The woman sent that (pulpit) to Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) who ordered it to be placed here. Then I saw Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) praying on it and then bowed on it. Then he stepped back, got down and prostrated on the ground near the foot of the pulpit and again ascended the pulpit. After finishing the prayer he faced the people and said, 'I have done this so that you may follow me and learn the way I pray.' "

Es berichtete uns Qutaibah ibn Sa'id, [eine Kette folgt]... dass Männer zu Sahl ibn Sa'd As-Sa'idi kamen, die uneins über das Holz des Minbars (Kanzel) waren, und ihn danach fragten. Der Gesandte Allahs (ﷺ) sandte zu einer Frau – deren Namen Sahl nannte – mit der Nachricht: 'Befiehl deinem Sklaven, dem Zimmermann, er soll mir einige Hölzer anfertigen, auf denen ich sitzen kann, wenn ich zu den Menschen spreche.' Sie befahl es ihm, und er fertigte ihn aus den Tamariskenhölzern von Al-Ghabah an und brachte ihn. Sie schickte ihn dann zum Gesandten Allahs (ﷺ), der befahl, ihn dorthin zu stellen. Dann sah ich den Gesandten Allahs (ﷺ) darauf beten, während er darauf den Takbir sprach. Dann verneigte er sich, während er darauf war, stieg dann rückwärts hinab, vollzog die Niederwerfung am Fuß des Minbars und stieg dann wieder hinauf. Als er fertig war, wandte er sich den Leuten zu und sagte: 'O ihr Menschen, ich tat dies nur, damit ihr mir folgt und mein Gebet lernt.'“

Sehl şöyle dedi: “Allah’a yemin ederim ki, ben onun neden yapıldığını biliyorum. Onun konulduğu ilk günü ve Resûlullah’ın (ﷺ) üzerine oturduğu ilk günü de gördüm. Resûlullah (ﷺ), – Sehl’in ismini zikrettiği – filan kadına haber gönderip dedi ki: ‘Marangoz kölene, insanlarla konuştuğum zaman üzerine oturacağım odunlar yapmasını emret.’ Kadın da ona emretti, o da minberi Ğâbe denilen yerin ılgın (tarfâ’) ağacından yaptı ve getirdi. Kadın onu Resûlullah’a (ﷺ) gönderdi. Resûlullah (ﷺ) da onu buraya konulmasını emretti. Sonra Resûlullah’ın (ﷺ) onun üzerinde namaz kıldığını, tekbir alıp rükû yaptığını gördüm. Sonra geri geri indi, minberin dibinde secde etti ve tekrar (minbere) çıktı. Namazı bitirince insanlara döndü ve şöyle buyurdu: ‘Ey insanlar! Ben bunu ancak bana uymanız ve namazımı öğrenmeniz için yaptım.’
