Chapter 1 · Introductionوحَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، وَسَعِيدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْأَشْعَثِيُّ جَمِيعًا عَنِ ابْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ، قَالَ سَعِيدٌ: أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حُجَيْرٍ، عَنْ طَاوُسٍ، قَالَ: جَاءَ هَذَا إِلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ - يَعْنِي بُشَيْرَ بْنَ كَعْبٍ - فَجَعَلَ يُحَدِّثُهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: عُدْ لِحَدِيثِ كَذَا وَكَذَا [ص:13]، فَعَادَ لَهُ، ثُمَّ حَدَّثَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: عُدْ لِحَدِيثِ كَذَا وَكَذَا، فَعَادَ لَهُ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: مَا أَدْرِي أَعَرَفْتَ حَدِيثِي كُلَّهُ، وَأَنْكَرْتَ هَذَا؟ أَمْ أَنْكَرْتَ حَدِيثِي كُلَّهُ، وَعَرَفْتَ هَذَا؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ: «إِنَّا كُنَّا نُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذْ لَمْ يَكُنْ يُكْذَبُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا رَكِبَ النَّاسُ الصَّعْبَ وَالذَّلُولَ، تَرَكْنَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْهُ»

He said (Bushayr bin Ka’b) came to Ibn Abbās رضی اللہ عنہ so he set about narrating to him. Ibn Abbās رضی اللہ عنہ said to him: ‘Go back to such-and-such narration‘. Then [Bushayr] returned to it and narrated it. So [Ibn Abbās رضی اللہ عنہ] said to him: ‘Go back to such-and-such narration’. Then [Bushayr] returned to it and narrated it. Thus [Bushayr] said to him: ‘I do not know whether you know all of my Ḥadīth and you reject this one and that, or if you reject all of my Ḥadīth and know this one and that?’ Ibn Abbās رضی اللہ عنہ said to him: ‘Indeed we would be narrated to on authority of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah upon him, at a time when one would not lie upon him, however when the people took the difficult [Munkar] and the docile [Sahīh], we abandoned listening to Ḥadīth from them’.

Daraufhin sagte [Buschayr] zu ihm: „Ich weiß nicht: Hast du alle meine Überlieferungen gekannt und nur diese hier abgelehnt, oder hast du alle meine Überlieferungen abgelehnt und nur diese hier gekannt?“ Ibn Abbās erwiderte ihm: „Wir pflegten Überlieferungen im Namen des Gesandten Allahs (ﷺ) zu erzählen, als noch nicht über ihn gelogen wurde. Als die Menschen jedoch das Schwierige und das Leichte unterschiedslos aufnahmen [wörtl.: ritten], gaben wir die Überlieferung von ihm [von solchen Leuten] auf.“

Tâvûs (r.a.) anlattı: Bu zat – yani Buşeyr bin Ka’b – İbn Abbâs’a (r.a.) geldi ve ona [Hadis] rivayet etmeye başladı. İbn Abbâs ona: “Falan falan rivayete geri dön!” dedi. [Buşeyr] ona geri döndü ve onu rivayet etti. Sonra tekrar rivayet etti. İbn Abbâs ona yine: “Falan falan rivayete geri dön!” dedi. O da geri döndü. Bunun üzerine [Buşeyr] ona şöyle dedi: “Ben bilmiyorum; sen benim bütün Hadislerimi mi bildin de sadece bunu mu inkâr ettin, yoksa bütün Hadislerimi mi inkâr ettin de sadece bunu mu bildin?” İbn Abbâs ona cevaben şunları söyledi: “Biz, Rasulullah’tan (ﷺ) hakkında yalan söylenmediği bir zamanda Hadis rivayet ederdik. Ne zaman ki insanlar zorlu ve uysal olanı [iyiyi kötüyü ayırt etmeden] kabul etmeye başladılar, biz de ondan [Rasulullah adına rivayet kabul etmeyi] terk ettik.”
