  سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " مَنْ يُرِدِ اللَّهُ بِهِ خَيْرًا يُفَقِّهْهُ فِي الدِّينِ، وَإِنَّمَا أَنَا قَاسِمٌ وَاللَّهُ يُعْطِي، وَلَنْ تَزَالَ هَذِهِ الأُمَّةُ قَائِمَةً عَلَى أَمْرِ اللَّهِ لاَ يَضُرُّهُمْ مَنْ خَالَفَهُمْ حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ أَمْرُ اللَّهِ ".

  إِنَّكُمْ لَتُصَلُّونَ صَلاَةً، لَقَدْ صَحِبْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَمَا رَأَيْنَاهُ يُصَلِّيهَا، وَلَقَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُمَا، يَعْنِي الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ بَعْدَ الْعَصْرِ.

  Mu'awiyah reported: You pray a prayer – we accompanied the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and did not see him pray it, and he forbade them (both) –, meaning the two rak'ahs after the Asr prayer.

  أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ، يَوْمًا فَقَالَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ " وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ".

  Isa ibn Talhah reported that he heard Mu'awiyah one day, and he said the like of it (as the caller to prayer) up to his words, “And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”

  لَمَّا قَالَ حَىَّ عَلَى الصَّلاَةِ. قَالَ لاَ حَوْلَ وَلاَ قُوَّةَ إِلاَّ بِاللَّهِ. وَقَالَ هَكَذَا سَمِعْنَا نَبِيَّكُمْ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ.

  Mu'awiyah reported that when (the caller to prayer) said, “Come to the prayer,” he said, “There is no might and no power except with Allah.” And he said, “This is how we heard your Prophet ﷺ say it.”
