What one says on hearing the caller
أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ، يَوْمًا فَقَالَ مِثْلَهُ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ " وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ".

حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ فَضَالَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عِيسَى بْنُ طَلْحَةَ،
Translation
Isa ibn Talhah reported that he heard Mu'awiyah one day, and he said the like of it (as the caller to prayer) up to his words, “And I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Translator’s note: That is, Mu'awiyah repeated the words of the caller to prayer.

Mu'awiyah reported that when (the caller to prayer) said, “Come to the prayer,” he said, “There is no might and no power except with Allah.” And he said, “This is how we heard your Prophet ﷺ say it.”
