Chapter 3 · Knowledgeذِكْرِ الْعِلْمِ وَالْفُتْيَا فِي الْمَسْجِدِ
Mentioning knowledge and giving legal rulings in the mosque
أَنَّ رَجُلاً، قَامَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، مِنْ أَيْنَ تَأْمُرُنَا أَنْ نُهِلَّ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " يُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْمَدِينَةِ مِنْ ذِي الْحُلَيْفَةِ، وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الشَّأْمِ مِنَ الْجُحْفَةِ، وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ نَجْدٍ مِنْ قَرْنٍ ". وَقَالَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ وَيَزْعُمُونَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " وَيُهِلُّ أَهْلُ الْيَمَنِ مِنْ يَلَمْلَمَ ". وَكَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ يَقُولُ لَمْ أَفْقَهْ هَذِهِ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

حَدَّثَنِي قُتَيْبَةُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا نَافِعٌ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ،.
Translation
Ibn Umar reported that a man stood up in the mosque and said, “O Messenger of Allah, from where do you command us to raise the talbiyah?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The people of Medina raise the talbiyah from Dhul-Hulayfah, the people of Syria raise it from al-Juhfah, and the people of Najd raise it from Qarn.” Ibn Umar said: And they claim that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “And the people of Yemen raise it from Yalamlam.” And Ibn Umar used to say: I did not grasp this (myself) from the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.
Translator’s note: With the loud call of the talbiyah (“Labbayka …”) the pilgrim enters the state of ihram; the places named are the stations at which this is to take place.

Ibn Umar berichtete, dass ein Mann in der Moschee aufstand und sagte: „O Gesandter Allahs, von wo aus sollen wir nach deinem Befehl die Talbiya erheben?“ Der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ sagte: „Die Leute von Medina erheben die Talbiya von Dhu l-Hulaifa aus, die Leute von Syrien erheben sie von al-Dschuhfa aus, und die Leute des Nadschd erheben sie von Qarn aus.“ Ibn Umar sagte: Und sie behaupten, dass der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ sagte: „Und die Leute des Jemen erheben sie von Yalamlam aus.“ Und Ibn Umar pflegte zu sagen: Dies habe ich vom Gesandten Allahs ﷺ nicht (selbst) erfasst.
Translator’s note: Mit dem lauten Ausruf der Talbiya („Labbaika …“) tritt der Pilger in den Weihezustand (Ihram) ein; die genannten Orte sind die Stationen, an denen dies zu geschehen hat.

İbn Ömer (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Bir adam mescidde ayağa kalkıp, “Ey Allah'ın Resûlü! Telbiyeye nereden başlamamızı emredersin?” dedi. Resûlullah ﷺ şöyle buyurdu: “Medineliler Zülhuleyfe'den telbiyeye başlar, Şamlılar Cuhfe'den telbiyeye başlar, Necidliler de Karn'dan telbiyeye başlar.” İbn Ömer dedi ki: (İnsanlar) Resûlullah'ın ﷺ, “Yemenliler de Yelemlem'den telbiyeye başlar” buyurduğunu iddia ediyorlar. İbn Ömer şöyle derdi: Ben bunu Resûlullah'tan ﷺ (bizzat) kavramadım.
Translator’s note: Telbiye (“Lebbeyk …”) ile hacı ihrama girer; sayılan yerler ihrama girilecek mîkât yerleridir.
