Chapter 3 · Knowledge
One who answers the questioner with more than he asked

Translation
Ibn Umar reported from the Prophet ﷺ that a man asked him, “What should the one in the state of ihram wear?” He said, “He should not wear a shirt, a turban, trousers or a hooded cloak, nor any garment touched by wars or saffron. If he does not find sandals, let him wear leather socks and cut them so that they are below the ankles.”
Translator’s note: Wars: a yellow, fragrant dye plant.
