مَا يَقُولُ عِنْدَ الْخَلاَءِ

What one says on (entering) the toilet

كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا دَخَلَ الْخَلاَءَ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ ".

Show the chain of narration (Arabic)

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَنَسًا، يَقُولُ

Translation

Anas ibn Malik reported: When the Prophet ﷺ entered the toilet, he would say, “O Allah, I seek refuge with You from the male and the female evil ones.”

Translator’s note: The two Arabic words denote male and female evil beings; according to another interpretation, evil and evil things.

Other translations

Deutsch

Anas ibn Malik berichtete: Wenn der Prophet ﷺ den Abort betrat, sagte er: „O Allah, ich suche Zuflucht bei Dir vor den männlichen und den weiblichen Dämonen.“

Translator’s note: Die beiden arabischen Wörter bezeichnen männliche und weibliche böse Wesen; nach anderer Deutung das Böse und die Übel.

Türkçe

Enes b. Mâlik (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî ﷺ helâya girdiğinde şöyle derdi: “Allah'ım! Erkek ve dişi şeytanlardan sana sığınırım.”

Translator’s note: Arapçadaki iki kelime erkek ve dişi kötü varlıkları ifade eder; başka bir yoruma göre kötülük ve kötü şeyler kastedilir.
