Sahih

Ablution with each part washed three times

Translation

Humran ibn Aban reported that he saw Uthman ibn Affan call for a vessel. He poured (water) over his palms three times and washed them. Then he put his right hand into the vessel, rinsed his mouth and sniffed water into his nose. Then he washed his face three times and his arms up to the elbows three times. Then he wiped over his head. Then he washed his feet up to the ankles three times. Then he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever performs ablution (wudu) like this ablution of mine and then prays two rak'ahs in which he does not talk to himself, his past sins will be forgiven him.”

Translator’s note: “Does not talk to himself”: does not let his thoughts dwell on worldly matters.

Deutsch
