Chapter 1 · Revelation
How the revelation to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ began

Translation
Aishah reported that al-Harith ibn Hisham asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ: “O Messenger of Allah, how does the revelation come to you?” The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Sometimes it comes to me like the ringing of a bell – and that is the hardest on me – then it leaves me, and I have grasped from him what he said. And sometimes the angel appears to me in the form of a man and speaks to me, and I grasp what he says.” Aishah said: “I saw the revelation coming down upon him on a day of intense cold; then it left him, and his forehead was dripping with sweat.”

Âişe (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Hâris b. Hişâm (r.a.) Resûlullah'a ﷺ sordu: “Ey Allah'ın Resûlü, sana vahiy nasıl geliyor?”
