Translation

Aishah reported: When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took the ritual bath (ghusl) for janabah, he washed his hands and performed ablution (wudu) as for the prayer. Then he washed himself. Then he ran his hand through his hair until, when he thought that he had moistened his skin, he poured water over it three times. Then he washed the rest of his body. And she said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ and I used to take the ritual bath from a single vessel, scooping from it together.

Translator’s note: Janabah: the state of major ritual impurity, e.g. after intercourse or ejaculation.

Âişe (r.a.)
