Chapter 8 · Prayers (Salat)
What must be covered of the private parts

Translation
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade wrapping oneself in the manner of as-samma' and that a man should sit with his knees drawn up (ihtiba') in a single garment with nothing of it over his private parts.
Translator’s note: Samma': wrapping oneself in a single garment so that no opening is left for the hands; according to another explanation, throwing it over one shoulder so that the private parts are exposed. Ihtiba': sitting with the knees drawn up to the body and the garment wrapped around the back and legs.

Ebû Saîd el-Hudrî (r.a.)
