Helping one another in building the mosque

Translation

Ikrimah reported: Ibn Abbas said to me and to his son Ali, “Go to Abu Sa'id and listen to his narrations.” So we went, and there he was in a walled garden that he was tending. He took his upper wrap and sat with his knees drawn up, wrapping it around them. Then he began telling us, until he came to mention the building of the mosque. He said, “We were carrying one brick at a time, and Ammar two bricks at a time. The Prophet ﷺ saw him, shook the dust off him and said, ‘Alas for Ammar! The transgressing group will kill him. He calls them to Paradise, and they call him to the Fire.’” He said: Ammar said, “I seek refuge with Allah from trials.”

İkrime şöyle rivayet etti: İbn Abbâs (r.a.) bana ve oğlu Ali'ye: “Ebû Saîd'e (r.a.) gidin ve onun rivayet ettiği hadislerden dinleyin” dedi. Nebî ﷺ onu gördü, üzerindeki tozu silkeledi ve şöyle buyurdu: ‘Vah Ammâr'a!
