Whoever builds a mosque
عِنْدَ قَوْلِ النَّاسِ فِيهِ حِينَ بَنَى مَسْجِدَ الرَّسُولِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّكُمْ أَكْثَرْتُمْ، وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " مَنْ بَنَى مَسْجِدًا ـ قَالَ بُكَيْرٌ حَسِبْتُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ ـ يَبْتَغِي بِهِ وَجْهَ اللَّهِ، بَنَى اللَّهُ لَهُ مِثْلَهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ ".

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرٌو، أَنَّ بُكَيْرًا، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَاصِمَ بْنَ عُمَرَ بْنِ قَتَادَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ الْخَوْلاَنِيَّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ، يَقُولُ
Translation
Uthman ibn Affan reported, when the people were talking about him as he was building the Mosque of the Messenger ﷺ: “You have talked a great deal, but I heard the Prophet ﷺ say, ‘Whoever builds a mosque – Bukayr said: I think he said: – seeking thereby the Face of Allah, Allah will build for him the like of it in Paradise.’”
Translator’s note: Uthman had the Prophet's Mosque enlarged and rebuilt in stone during his caliphate; some people disapproved of this.

Uthman ibn Affan berichtete, als die Leute über ihn redeten, während er die Moschee des Gesandten ﷺ baute: „Ihr habt viel geredet. Ich aber hörte den Propheten ﷺ sagen: ‚Wer eine Moschee baut – Bukair sagte: Ich glaube, er sagte: – und damit das Angesicht Allahs sucht, dem baut Allah etwas Gleiches im Paradies.‘“
Translator’s note: Uthman ließ die Prophetenmoschee während seines Kalifats erweitern und aus Stein neu bauen; manche Leute missbilligten das.

Osman b. Affân (r.a.), Resûl'ün ﷺ mescidini yaptığı sırada insanların onun hakkında konuşmaları üzerine şöyle rivayet etti: “Siz çok konuştunuz. Ben ise Nebî'yi ﷺ şöyle buyururken işittim: ‘Kim – Bükeyr dedi ki: Sanırım şöyle dedi – Allah'ın rızasını gözeterek bir mescid yaparsa, Allah da ona cennette onun benzerini yapar.’”
Translator’s note: Osman (r.a.) halifeliği döneminde Mescid-i Nebevî'yi genişletip taştan yeniden yaptırmıştı; bazıları buna itiraz etti.
