Sahih

Circles and sitting in the mosque

Translation

Ibn Umar reported: A man asked the Prophet ﷺ while he was on the pulpit, “What is your view on the night prayer?” He said, “Two by two. When one fears (the coming of) dawn, he prays one (rak'ah), and it makes what he has prayed witr.” And he (Ibn Umar) used to say, “Make the last of your prayer witr, for the Prophet ﷺ commanded it.”

Translator’s note: Witr: odd; the concluding prayer with an odd number of rak'ahs. The sentence “And he used to say …” is transmitted by Nafi' from Ibn Umar.

Deutsch

İbn Ömer (r.a.)
