Chapter 8 · Prayers (Salat)
The mosques on the roads of Madinah

Translation
Ibn Umar reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to halt at Dhul-Hulayfah when he performed Umrah, and on his Hajj when he performed it, beneath an acacia tree at the site of the mosque which is at Dhul-Hulayfah. And when he returned from a campaign that lay on that road, or from Hajj or Umrah, he would descend through the bed of a valley; and when he came up out of the valley bed, he would make (his camel) kneel in the gravelly plain on the eastern edge of the valley and rest there until morning – not at the mosque which is made of stones, nor on the hillock on which the mosque stands. There was a channel there by which Abdullah used to pray; in its bed were sand dunes, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to pray there. Then the torrent swept gravel into it until it buried the place where Abdullah used to pray.
