Chapter 8 · Prayers (Salat)
Sahih

The sutrah (barrier in front of the one praying) of the imam is the sutrah of those behind him

Translation

Ibn Umar reported that when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out on the day of Eid, he would order the spear (to be brought); it would be placed in front of him, and he would pray towards it with the people behind him. He used to do that on journeys too, and it is from that that the rulers adopted it.

Türkçe

İbn Ömer (r.a.), Resûlullah'ın ﷺ bayram günü çıktığında harbenin (getirilmesini) emrettiğini rivayet etti; harbe önüne konulur, o da ona doğru namaz kılar, insanlar da arkasında olurdu. Bunu yolculukta da yapardı. Emîrler de onu buradan edinmişlerdir.

Translator’s note: Harbe: kısa mızrak.
