Translation
Anas ibn Malik reported that the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and Zayd ibn Thabit ate the suhur meal. When they had finished their suhur, the Prophet of Allah ﷺ stood up for the prayer and prayed. We asked Anas, “How much (time) was there between their finishing their suhur and their starting the prayer?” He said, “As long as it takes a man to recite fifty verses.”
Translator’s note: The question to Anas was put by his students (Qatadah and others). Suhur: the meal before dawn when fasting.
