Chapter 9 · Times of the Prayers
Sahih

What may be prayed after the Asr prayer of missed prayers and the like

Translation

Aishah reported: By the One who took him away, he did not abandon them until he met Allah; and he did not meet Allah, the Exalted, until the prayer had become heavy for him, and he used to perform much of his prayer sitting – she means the two rak'ahs after the Asr prayer. The Prophet ﷺ used to pray them, but he did not pray them in the mosque, for fear of making things heavy for his community; and he loved what made things lighter for them.

Translator’s note: The interjection “she means …” is from the narrator.

Deutsch

Âişe (r.a.)

Aishah reported: There are two rak'ahs which the Messenger of Allah ﷺ never used to leave, neither in secret nor openly: two rak'ahs before the dawn prayer and two rak'ahs after the Asr prayer.

Aishah reported: The Prophet ﷺ never came to me on any day after the Asr prayer without praying two rak'ahs.
