Sahih

The adhan for travellers when they are a group, and the iqamah; and likewise at Arafah and Jam'

Translation

Malik ibn al-Huwayrith reported: We came to the Prophet ﷺ, young men of about the same age, and stayed with him for twenty days and nights. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was merciful and kind. When he thought that we were longing for our families – or that we had become homesick – he asked us about those we had left behind, and we told him. He said, “Go back to your families, stay among them, teach them and command them” – and he mentioned things which I remember or do not remember – “and pray as you have seen me pray. When the time of prayer comes, let one of you call the adhan for you, and let the eldest of you lead you in prayer.”

Huveyris (r.a.)
