Chapter 11 · Call to Prayers (Adhaan) (Sufa-Tu-Salat)يُطَوِّلُ فِي الأُولَيَيْنِ وَيَحْذِفُ فِي الأُخْرَيَيْنِ
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي عَوْنٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ عُمَرُ لِسَعْدٍ لَقَدْ شَكَوْكَ فِي كُلِّ شَىْءٍ حَتَّى الصَّلاَةِ. قَالَ أَمَّا أَنَا فَأَمُدُّ فِي الأُولَيَيْنِ، وَأَحْذِفُ فِي الأُخْرَيَيْنِ، وَلاَ آلُو مَا اقْتَدَيْتُ بِهِ مِنْ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم. قَالَ صَدَقْتَ، ذَاكَ الظَّنُّ بِكَ، أَوْ ظَنِّي بِكَ.

Prolonging the first two Rak'a and shortening the last two
`Umar رضی اللہ عنہ said to Sa`d, "The people complained against you in everything, even in prayer." Sa`d replied, "Really I used to prolong the first two rak`at and shorten the last two and I will never shorten the prayer in which I follow Allah's Messenger (ﷺ)." `Umar said, "You are telling the truth and that is what I think about you."

Sulaiman ibn Harb berichtete uns, dass Shu’bah von Abu Aun überlieferte, der sagte: Ich hörte Jabir ibn Samurah berichten, dass Umar (radiyallahu anhu) zu Sa’d sagte: „Sie haben sich über dich in allem beschwert, sogar im Gebet.“ Sa’d antwortete: „Was mich betrifft, so pflege ich die ersten beiden (Rak'at) zu verlängern und die letzten beiden abzukürzen, und ich versäume nichts, was ich vom Gebet des Gesandten Allahs (Friede sei mit ihm) übernommen habe.“ (Umar) sagte: „Du hast die Wahrheit gesprochen. Das ist die Erwartung, die ich von dir habe.“

Süleyman ibn Harb bize haber verdi, o dedi ki: Şu'be, Ebu Avn'dan rivayet etti ki, o da şöyle dedi: Câbir ibn Semura'yı işittim, şöyle dedi: Ömer (r.a.) Sa'd'a dedi ki: 'Hakka yemin olsun ki, seni her şeyden, hatta namazdan bile şikâyet ettiler.' Sa'd cevap verdi: 'Bana gelince, ben ilk iki rekâtı uzatırım, son iki rekâtı ise kısaltırım ve ben, Resûlullah'ın (sallallahu aleyhi ve sellem) namazından öğrendiğim hiçbir şeyi eksik bırakmam.' (Ömer) dedi ki: 'Doğru söyledin. Hakkındaki düşüncem de, benim sana dair zannım da buydu.'
