Chapter 3 · Knowledgeعِظَةِ الإِمَامِ النِّسَاءَ وَتَعْلِيمِهِنَّ
The imam's admonishing the women and teaching them
أَشْهَدُ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَوْ قَالَ عَطَاءٌ أَشْهَدُ عَلَى ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَرَجَ وَمَعَهُ بِلاَلٌ، فَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسْمِعِ النِّسَاءَ فَوَعَظَهُنَّ، وَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ، فَجَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ تُلْقِي الْقُرْطَ وَالْخَاتَمَ، وَبِلاَلٌ يَأْخُذُ فِي طَرَفِ ثَوْبِهِ.

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَطَاءً، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ
Translation
Ibn Abbas reported: I bear witness concerning the Prophet ﷺ – or Ata said: I bear witness concerning Ibn Abbas – that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out, and Bilal was with him. He thought that he had not made the women hear, so he admonished them and commanded them to give charity (sadaqah). The women began throwing their earrings and rings, and Bilal was collecting (them) in the edge of his garment.
Translator’s note: Ata (ibn Abi Rabah) narrates from Ibn Abbas; the interjection reflects a later narrator's doubt about the exact wording of the testimony.

Ibn Abbas berichtete: Ich bezeuge vom Propheten ﷺ – oder Ata sagte: Ich bezeuge von Ibn Abbas –, dass der Gesandte Allahs ﷺ hinausging, und Bilal war bei ihm. Er meinte, er habe die Frauen nicht hören lassen, und so ermahnte er sie und gebot ihnen die Spende (Sadaqa). Da begann jede Frau, ihren Ohrring und ihren Ring hinzuwerfen, und Bilal nahm (sie) im Zipfel seines Gewandes entgegen.
Translator’s note: Ata (ibn Abi Rabah) überliefert von Ibn Abbas; der Einschub gibt einen Zweifel eines späteren Überlieferers wieder, wie die Bezeugung genau lautete.

İbn Abbâs (r.a.) şöyle rivayet etti: Nebî ﷺ hakkında şahitlik ederim – veya Atâ: İbn Abbâs hakkında şahitlik ederim, dedi – ki Resûlullah ﷺ yanında Bilâl (r.a.) olduğu hâlde çıktı. Kadınlara (sesini) duyuramadığını düşündü; onlara öğüt verdi ve sadaka vermelerini emretti. Kadınlar küpelerini ve yüzüklerini atmaya başladılar; Bilâl de bunları elbisesinin eteğine topluyordu.
