Chapter 3 · Knowledge
A man's teaching his slave woman and his family

Translation
Abu Musa al-Ash'ari reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “There are three who have a double reward: a man of the People of the Book who believed in his prophet and believed in Muhammad ﷺ; the slave owned (by another) when he fulfils the right of Allah and the right of his masters; and a man who had a slave woman with whom he had relations, and he educated her and educated her well, taught her and taught her well, then freed her and married her – he has a double reward.” Then Amir said: “We have given it to you for nothing; people used to ride all the way to Medina for less than this.”
Translator’s note: Amir (ash-Sha'bi) is a later narrator in this chain; he says this to his student about the hadith.

Ebû Mûsâ el-Eş'arî (r.a.)
